Arthur married Margaret Hawthorne on 29 Nov 1901 in Magheramorne Presbyterian Church, County Antrim. He was a farmer from Islandmagee and she was a 20 year old, also from Islandmagee. The witnesses were David Templeton and Martha S Hawthorne.[2]
In 1911 he was living in Ballymuldrogh, Islandmagee with his wife and 8 year old son Edwin. He was a sailor.[3]
In 1920 he was living with Margaret and 4 of his children, Edwin, Margaret, Rene and Maureen in Ashtabula, Ohio, USA. He was the captain of a steam boat.[4]
Arthur died on 17 Mar 1946 aged 67 in Orange County, California, USA.[5]

Antrim, Ireland a Samuel Forbes married an Ellen Fullerton. 1940 Census age 61 with wife Marie in Newport Beach. In Westminster Park, Orange Co. California there is a gravestone "Beloved Husband Cpt Arthur Forbes 1869-1946"
