John Minor Ford was the son of Joshua Ford (1805–1883) and Elizabeth Hammond (1811–1888), born on 6 June 1848 and raised on his father's farm in Butler, Richland County, Ohio.[1][2]
John married Sarah "Sadie" Houston on 7 Apr 1870 in Richland County, Ohio. When they married, John and Sadie established their own farm in Nankin, in Orange Township, Richland County.[3][4][5]
John Minor Ford and Sarah "Sadie" Houston had the following children:
Omar Houston Ford was born on 10 May 1872 in Orange Township, Ashland County, Ohio. He worked on his father's farm, and suffered from delicate health his whole life. He died after a lingering illness on 7 Jan 1905 aged 32 years, 7 months and 27 days. He was buried in Nankin Cemetery, Ashland County, Ohio.
Eugene Hammond Ford (1873-1949)
John and Sadie raised their family on their farm until they retired to Montgomery in Ashland County. John died on 12 Mar 1910 at age 61 in Montgomery, Ashland County, Ohio, and was buried in Nankin Cemetery. Sadie died on 19 Aug 1928 at age 78 and was also buried in Nankin Cemetery.[6][7][8][9][10][11][12][13]
