Biography

Pam is Potawatomi.

Pamela was born July 1, 1961 in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. She is the daughter of Jon Thomas Vrooman and Gayle Marie Stoll. At the age of four, Pam's family moved to Tulsa where she lived the majority of her life. Pam attended Francis Scott Key Elementary School from K-6, Byrd Junior High from 7-9, Memorial High School for 10th grade, and Holland Hall in grades 11 and 12, graduating in 1979. She attended Tulane University in New Orleans for one year following high school, then backpacked through Europe during the summer of 1980.

In February 1991 Pam married David Lee Reed and had a son, Benjamin David Reed on June 25, 1982. They divorced in September 1982. Pam worked at MPSI Systems as a data analyst in Tulsa before returning to college at the University of Tulsa where she received a Bachelor's in English Literature in 1985. She worked as the Director of Marketing and Communications at Victor Federal Savings & Loan in Muskogee, OK following graduation, then took a job at Oklahoma Credit Union Association as Director of Marketing in 1986, where she stayed for 5 years.

In December 1988 she married William Wilson Robinson III in New York City at a justice of the peace, and had a larger wedding ceremony in September 1989. They had one daughter, Hannah Winston Robinson, on December 9, 1992. The couple divorced in December 1998.

Pam worked at Oklahoma Central Credit Union as the Director of Marketing for 5 years before returning to graduate school in 1998. She graduated with a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Tulsa in May 2006, and completed her postdoctoral supervision at Tulsa Women and Children's Center and Resonance Center for Women. She began a private practice in April 2008.

In May 1999, Pam met Samuel Morgan Harris III, and they married on March 9, 2001.

Pam is an enrolled member of the Citizen Potawatomi Nation in Shawnee, Oklahoma, and a member of the women's hand drum group, Dewegen Kwek. She is also a board member of The Kwek Society, a non-profit to end period poverty among Native. students. She is a member of Matriarch Oklahoma, and the Whitty Books Native American Literature book club. She actively studies the Bodewadmi language and attends both the tribe's annual festival as well as the Gathering of the Potawatomi Nations each year.
