Biography

Cornelius Ford is a part of US Black heritage.

Birth

Cornelius Ford is a son of Priscilla Casey Ford and William Ford. He was born about 1858 in Michigan.

In 1878 Cornelius married Melvina S. Artis (or Chaties- difficult to read) in Cass Co. Michigan on 15 January 1878. In the Michigan Marriaages 1822-1995 database, the record is on page 173, record number 21709. [1]

The 1880 Census shows Cornelius and Melvina in St. Joseph, Michigan and with a son, Fred.[2]


Reseach Notes

Cornelius died in 1956, about 98 years old. He is buried in Calvary Cemetery, Brockton, Plymouth County, Massachusetts. (if this is the same person)

Need to confirm whether his wife's maiden name was Artis or Chaties.
