Research Notes
Birth date
No baptism record for Louis Fournier was found in Catholic Church records of Quebec and Ontario provinces. Here is what we know:
There is a baptism record for Luc Fournier, son of Louis Joseph Fournier and Marie-Claire Drugeot, in Saint-Laurent (Montreal) dated 29 MAY 1783. There is no other record in Catholic church for him in Quebec and Ontario provinces. We can hypothesize that Luc Fournier could be either the first name at birth of Louis or his brother Pierre Fournier.
Burial record of 15 FEB 1856 mentions no wive, and an eldest son named Anthony. We can ask ourselves if it concerns the right Louis:
In 1856, Louis has three sons alive: Pierre (eldest), Louis and Antoine (youngest). Louis was raising his family in Saint-André-Avellin. His sons Pierre and Antoine were raising their family in Prescott and Russell county. Anthony is the english version of Antoine.
I also done negative searches for other Louis Fournier who had sons named Antoine or Anthony. I found two potential candidates but they did not match wive name, years and locations.
