Biography

Flora L. France was born on 28 October 1854 in Indiana. She was the daughter of Abraham France and Catherine Lenhart.^[1]

In the 1860 census Flora (age 6) was in Hudson Township, LaPorte, Indiana.^[2]

In the 1870 census, the family surname was recorded as Francis. Flora (age 15) was in Hudson Township, LaPorte, Indiana.^[3]

In the 1880 census, Flora (age 25) and her husband John Jerue (age 31) (indexed as Gerne) were living in Sodus, Berrien, Michigan. They had two daughters and Flora's sister, Lucretia France (age 14), living with them.^[4]

In the 1900 census, Flora (age 44) is shown living with her brother George and four of her children in Galien, Berrien, Michigan. ^[5]

Flora was divorced from John B Jerue on 20 December 1902 in Berrien County, Michigan.^[6]

Flora L. Jerue died (age 71) on 2 December 1928 in New Carlisle, St Joseph, Indiana.^[1][7] She was buried in New Carlisle Cemetery.^[8]
