Biography

E. Doreen was born in 1917. She was the daughter of John Freeman and Charlotte Giffin[1]

On August 1, 1937, she married Ernest Everett Pierce, the son of Everett Pierce and Annie Crouse of East Sable River, Nova Scotia[2], and they had children, including:

  1. Ernest Ondon, born 13 March 1938, who died April 17, 2019[3]
  2. Forrest Bernard, born 1945, who died in 2003[4]
  3. Others, whose names are not provided for privacy reasons

Evelyn Doreen (Freeman) Pierce died May 4 2009, and was buried in the East Sable River Cemetery[5] [6]

  6. Obituary for Evelyn Doreen Pierce states PIERCE, Evelyn "Doreen" 91, of Stonehaven Lodge, Port Mouton, formerly of Lockeport. It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother on May 4, 2009, in Queen's General Hospital. Doreen was the daughter of the late John and Charlotte (Giffin) Freeman of Louis Head. Doreen was a devoted member of the Baptist Church and was involved in many community organizations such as I.O.D.E, Home and School, Hospital Auxillary and Civil Defense. She shared her love of music, skating, swimming, sewing and traveling with her family and inspired her children and grandchildren to follow their dreams. She is survived by children, , as well as 14 great-grandchildren. Doreen was predeceased by her husband, Ernest E. Pierce and loving son, Forrest (Anne). She was also predeceased by siblings, Helen Hustler, Eugene and Archibald Freeman. Arrangements are under the direction of H.M. Huskilson's Funeral Home, Lockeport. No visitation by request. A memorial service will take place in Lockeport Baptist Church on Saturday, May 9, at 11 a.m. with Pastor Cy Mersereau officiating. Reception to follow. No flowers by request. Memorial donations may be made to Lockeport Baptist Church or the Canadian Cancer Society. A heartfelt thanks to staff and friends of Stonehaven Lodge for providing Doreen with a special "home away from home" and to staff of Queen's General Hospital for their compassionate care.
