Research Notes

We are speculating that the Nancy Fulk who was the daughter of Adam and Rebecca Paulina (Culler) Fulk is the same one who married James Carlisle. There is a Nancy S. Carlisle married to James Carlisle living in Yadkin, Stokes County, North Carolina at the time of the 1880 Census. They have three children: Mary E. (6), John W. (4) and Melissa L. (1). [1] There is genealogist by the name of Omeda Johnson Brewer who is the great granddaughter of Nancy S. (Fulk) and James Carlisle. She provides information about Nancy's life on her website[2], but she does not cite sources. It may be first-hand knowledge passed down from her family. -- Fiscus-32 10:49, 6 May 2016 (EDT)
When Nancy's first husband, James Madison Carlisle, died, she married James Mastin Wall. He was 71 and she was 39 at the time they were married. They had one child, a son, Adam Wall.[3] When James Wall died, he left his entire estate to Nancy.[2]

James Wall
His name was simply Mastin WALL. James Mastin WALL was one of those internet typos that ended up being repeated over and over again and found a life of its own. I know who first posted the typo but am keeping it to myself as that person is a good genealogy friend of mine. That person knew Omeda Brewer quite well. I did have mail contact with Omeda BREWER as well, but she only lived a few years after we first exchanged mail unlike my friend.
