Note

Note: According to a book by Samuel Garrett written in 1909, in a section entitled "Unrelated Garretts", information about this man was collected. James apparently moved from Culpepper County, VA in about 1800 to Tennessee, and finally settled in Montgomery County, KY, about four miles from Mount Sterling where he died in 1852, at age about 100 years. His brother Robert also lived to be nearly 100.
