Biography

Avie (Gibbs) Kellow was born in Appalachia, in Tennessee.

Avie Lee Gibbs was born on August 20, 1938 in Smith, Tennessee, United States, daughter of Minnis Lee Gibbs (1906–1978).

In the 1940 census Avie (age 1) was the niece of Katie C Hellmantalow in Civil District 5, Smith, Tennessee, United States.[1] Katie C Hellmantalow 28, son John W Hellmantalow 8, fath Andrew J Craighead 65, sis Allie F Gibbs 32, niece Mary O Gibbs 7, nephew Arliss L Gibbs 7, niece Avie L Gibbs 1, brother Charlie J Craighead 15.

In the 1950 census Avie (age 11) was the daughter of Allie F Gibbs in Carthage, Smith, Tennessee, United States.[2] Allie F Gibbs 42 years, daughter M Olean Gibbs 18 years, son Arlis L Gibbs 16 years, daughter Avie L Gibbs 11 years.

Avie died on January 7, 2002 in Carthage, Smith, aged 63.[3]
