Henry Gilbert was christened in Derby, Derbyshire on 21 June 1840[1]. He was the son of William Gilbert and his wife Ellen.
At the time of the 1841 England and Wales Census, William, Ellen, Lydia, William, Sarah, Joseph, and Henry Gilbert were listed as living on Malt Sitwell Street in St Peter, Derbyshire, along with Susan Gilbert, who may have been William's sister[2].
At the time of the 1861 England and Wales Census, William, Ellen, William, Sarah, Joseph, Henry, John, and Edwd Gilbert were listed as living on Malt House Row in St Peter, Derbyshire, along with a visitor[3].
Henry's marriage to Jane Millett was registered in Derby, Derbyshire in the first quarter of 1866[4].
At the time of the 1871 England and Wales Census, Henry, Jane, William, Sarah A, Ellen, and Henry Gilbert were listed as living in St Peter, Derbyshire[5]. At the time of the census, Henry's occupation was listed as "Elastic Web Weaver".
At the time of the 1881 England and Wales Census, Henry, Jane, William, Henry, Flory, Mary Jane, Saml, and Lydia Gilbert were listed as living on Babington Lane in St Peter[6]. At the time of the census, Henry's occupation was listed as "Elastic Weaver".
At the time of the 1891 England and Wales Census, Henry, Jane, Henry, Sam, Ellen, Florence, Mary J, and Lydia Gilbert were listed as living on Babington Lane in St Peter[7]. At the time of the census, Henry's occupation was listed as "Elastic Weaver".
At the time of the 1901 England and Wales Census, Henry, Jane, Mary J, and Lydia Gilbert were listed as living on Malthouse Row in St Peter[8]. At the time of the census, Henry's occupation was listed as "Elastic Weaver".
