Zerilda was born about 1822. She was a daughter of John Gilkison. It is not with certainty she was a daughter Delila Drown as this couple did not marry until 1823 and John Gilkison's 1820 household contained a female the appropriate age to have been a first unknown wife. Zerilda is however named in numerous primary source documents as the daughter and heir of John Gilkison.
She married James Stith in 1839 in Lawrence Co., Ohio. Her father John Gilkison deeded land to Zerilda just shortly before his death in 1857. She passed away before 1889 when a chancery cause was filed by her still living children and heirs of those deceased to divide land she had received from her father.
