Biography

Jared was born May 30, 2000 in San Diego, California. He attended John Robert Powers San Diego, a training school for actors, models, and singers; for two years.[1]

According to an interview, Gilmore unintentionally began acting after running into a talent rep that was interested in his twin sister, Taylor. He acquired his first jobs through modeling T-shirts and acting in commercials.[2]

Career

Jared was cast as Bobby Draper in 2009 for Mad Men. He was the third actor to play the character, after Maxwell Huckabee and Aaron Hart, since 2007 when the character was originated. He left Mad Men in 2011.[3]

He was cast in Once Upon a Time as Henry Mills, the biological son of Emma Swan and Baelfire/Neal. He is the only resident of Storybrooke that is not under the spell of the Evil Queen.[4]

Jared won the award for Best Performance in a TV series-Leading Young Actor at the 33rd Young Artist Awards. The following year he was nominated for Best Performance in a TV Series-Leading Actor. He was also included among the cast of Mad Men when it won the Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series in 2010 for season 3.[5]

Henry Mills is the biological son of Emma Swan and Neil Cassidy/Baelfire. Emma gave Henry up for adoption after giving birth to give him a better chance. He was adopted by Regina Mills/The Evil Queen after Mr. Gold procures him.[6]

When Henry receives the book of fairy tales from his teacher, Mary Margaret Blanchard/Snow White, he sees the people in Storybrooke for who they truly are. This leads him to look for his birth mother, Emma, so she can break the curse they are under. This also strains his relationship with his adoptive mother as he finds out she is the Evil Queen that is responsible for everyone's misery.[7]

Henry has had to deal with the loss of his biological father, being kidnapped to Neverland, body swapping with Peter Pan (his great-grandfather via Baelfire), put under a sleeping curse, being marked for death, being put in an alternate world via Isaac (the author at the time), and saving his biological mother from being the Dark One. At the end, he finally finds his first love, Violet, and becomes the new author after Isaac.[8]
