Louis L. Gloden, Candidate for County Treasurer.
Louis L. 'Gladen', is a native Dubuquer, and received his education in the
schools of Dubuque. He is a graduate of the Sacred Heart Parochial School
and the Dubuque High School. He is also a graduate of the Bayless Business
College. In May, 1907, Mr Gloden entered the employ of the Union Trust &
Savings Bank, 13th and Clay streets. In his seven years' connection with
this bank, Mr. Gloden acquired valuable business and financial experience -
experience of a sort to make him peculiarly fitted for the office for which
he is now a candidate. Mr. Glode is married and has two children. Mr
Gloden's business training, especially his long experience in financial
matters, fits him admirably for the office of county treasurer.

Louis L. Gloden, 77 of 416 Loras Blvd., died at 12:28 am Thursday at Xavier
Hospital. Friends may call after 2 PM Friday at the Hoffmann Mortuary.
Services will be held at 10 am Saturday at St Patrick's Church. The Rt Rev
Msgr DV Foley pastor will offer the requiem high mass. Burial will be in Mt
Calvary Cemetery. Mr Gloden was a member of the Holy Name Society of St
Patrick's Church. He was born at Dubuque, son of John and Anna Schenker
Gloden and had lived in Dubuque most of his life. Mr Gloden was a deputy
state auditor for five years and was with the Internal Revenue 10 years. He
was associated with banks in Dubuque, Dyersville and California and retired
five years ago. During his retirement he served as an income tax consultant.
Surviving as his wife, the former Mae Schloeder, who he married July 27,
1911 in Dubuque, Two daughters, Mrs Roy (Blanch) Bauer, Dubuque, Mrs Dorothy
Kinney, Dubuque; two grandsons and eight great grandchildren; on sister, Mrs
L.J. (Lillian) Vogel, Dubuque one brother, Arthur, Portland Ore. Members of
St Patrick parish and embers of the Holy Name Society will recite the Rosary
at 8 PM Friday a the funeral home.
