Louisa Godwin was born on March 19, 1867, in South Carolina.^[1] Her parents were Mathew Godwin and Frances Allen.^[2]

She married Frederick Jasper Rush McKenzie in about 1884.^[3]

She died on November 11, 1937, in Wakulla, Florida, United States.^[4] She was buried in the Sanborn-McKenzie Cemetery in Wakulla, Florida.^[5]
