Biography

Francisco Gonçalves Chada was born in Portugal.

Francisco Gonçalves Chada was born before the 4th of April 1683 when he was baptized in the parish of Magdalena do Mar.^[1] He was the son of Miguel Gonçalves and Izabel Telles.^[1][2] Francisco was given his name by his Godparents Reverend Vicar Bento Gomes Ferreira and Maria Gonçalves who were present at the baptism.^[1]

Francisco married Luísa da Ascenção before their son António Gonçalves Chada was born (circa 1729). Francisco and Luísa were both still living when António married in 1749.^[2]
