Thomas Goodes migrated from England to the United Province of Canada.
Biography
Thomas Goodes was born in Huntingdonshire on 18 April 1852. He was the son of Thomas Goodes and Selina Webb. His birth was registered in Huntingdon in the second quarter of 1852.[1]
In 1856, Thomas, Selina, Thomas, and Alfred Goodes were listed as immigrant passengers on the Aurora, landing in New York City.[2]
By 1861, the family had settled in Clifton, Canada West, where Thos, Selina, Thos, Alfred, Mary, and David Goodes (misspelled as "Goods" on the enumeration sheet) were listed as living at the time of the census of Canada East, Canada West, Prince Edward Island, New Brunswick and Nova Scotia.[3].
At the time of the 1871 Census of Canada, Thomas, Selina, Thomas, Alfred, Mary E., David, Horatio, Selina, and Anne Goodes were listed as living in Clifton.[4]
At the time of the 1891 Census of Canada, Thomas, Mary, Mary S., Thomas L., Alfred W., John B., and David H. Goodes were listed as living in Niagara Falls, Ontario.[5] At the time of the census, Thomas' occupation was listed as "RR Engineer".
At the time of the 1901 Census of Canada, Thomas, Mary, T L, A W, J B, D R, J C, Blanche, and G W Goodes were listed as living in Niagara Falls.[6] At the time of the census, Thomas' occupation was listed as "Engineer".
At the time of the 1911 Census of Canada, Thomas, James, and David Goodes were listed as living in Niagara Falls.[7] At the time of the census, Thomas' occupation was listed as "Engineer".
Thomas died in St. Thomas, Ontario on November 21, 1922[8]. On his death registration, Thomas' occupation was listed as "Loco Engineer GTR". He was buried in Fairview Cemetery, Niagara Falls, Ontario.[9]

Clifton's name was changed to Niagara Falls in 1881[10].
