Biography

Mary Corillia Gordon was born 24 November 1876 in Montgomery County, Georgia, the daughter of John Wesley Gordon and Julia Ann Moseley Gordon^[1]. In 1880 she lived in Montgomery County with her parents and siblings^[2].

She married Charles Carlos Dyal. In 1900 they lived in Appling County, Georgia with their children John M., Bessie, and Rufus^[3]. She lived in Millen, Jenkins County, Georgia in 1920 with children Rufus, Paul, and Julia (J.A.) living at home^[4].

Their son Paul married Anne V. Council in Manhattan, New York, New York in 1929^[5].

In 1930 she lived in Augusta with her daughters Julia and Laverne^[6]. By 1940 she was living with her son Paul and his wife and children in Queens, New York^[7].

She died July 3, 1958, in Richmond County, Georgia^[8] and was buried in Philadelphia Methodist Church Cemetery, Hazlehurst, Jeff Davis County, Georgia^[1].
