Biography

Mary was born in 1865. She was the daughter of Alexander Gove and Isabella Petrie.

She married Edward Hillary on 29 November 1893 at a private residence in Isipingo, Natal, after Banns^[1]. Edward was a bachelor farmer of Bellair. The witnesses were Alek Gove, Winifred Gove and Alex Gove.

They went on to have three children.

Mary and Edward farmed at Isipingo, Natal, South Africa.

She passed away in 1924 at the age of 56. Cause of death was recorded as Carcinoma of Pelvic Colon^[2]. She was buried at Isipingo Cemetery, Isipingo, Durban, Natal, South Africa^[3].
