Alvin was born in 1791. He was the son of Asa Graves and Roxana Graves. He passed away in 1854. He was of Scotch and English descent.
He married Elizabeth Webb in 1816 in Indiana. Their children were

Sarah Elizabeth Graves (1843 -).
They moved from Massachusetts to Indiana in 1816. In 1832 they moved to Missouri near where Kansas City now stands. In 1838 the family moved to Quincy, Illinois until 1840 when they moved to Des Moines, Iowa.
Alvin passed away on 15 June, 1854 in Des Moines, Iowa.
