Welcome to WikiTree! I hope you enjoy working with this group and this "platform" because it is awesome. I also have Simmons in my tree. Starting with my grandmother (father's mother) who was born in.... wait for it... Simmonsville, Mississippi! There are so so very many Simmons folks between Mississippi and Louisiana that it can be hard to get them untangled. My sister has a blog site specifically for all of her genealogy research and there are several articles about our Simmons ancestors. It is........ fortenberry.wordpress.com just look for some of the Simmons articles on the RIGHT side of the screen. You can also take a look at my WikiTree page and see the family tree which has my Simmons ancestors.
So glad you are a member.... good luck with your research!
