Biography
John was born in 1881, the son of Simon Gullery and Clarissa Blizzard.
John firstly worked as a Sheep Farmer and lived in Picton. Later he was employed as an Engine Driver during WWI. He is listed on the 1916/17 Reserve Rolls.
He held a Certificate of Service as Master of Oil-Engine Vessels in the 1910's. During the 1920's he moved to Seddon and worked as a Farm Manager till the 1930's when he relocated to Blenheim.
John married Florence Berg. Five children were born in the marriage.
After Florence's death in 1940 John moved north to the Manawatu and was now retired.
He died age 67 and is buried at Aramoho Cemetery, Wanganui.
