Biography

Joseph was born about 1714. He passed away about 1762.

Joseph Hims or Hains was born in 1714. He was a son of Joseph-Jonathan Hains and Marie Posé. [1]

The story related below is about the uncle, grandfather, and father of this Joseph. Haverhill is in Massachusetts.

(Captured with his father and brother in Haverhill on 15-08-1696: the father managed to escape but the two brothers were taken to Canada by American Indians. Naturalized in May 1710 with his brother Joseph-Jonathan husband of Marie Pauzé.) [citation needed]

A more detailed version provided by Guy C. Haynes. Joseph's father is referred to as Jonathan:

On 15 August 1796 [Joseph's grandfather] Jonathan Haynes was captured by the Abenaki Indians while reaping in his field within sight of his house. Four children, who were picking beans in the field, were also captured. The children were Mary, age nineteen, Thomas, age sixteen, Jonathan, age twelve and Joseph age seven. The Indians took them to Penacook, New Hampshire, where they divided. One group took Jonathan and Thomas to Maine, where they escaped. Mary, Jonathan and Joseph were taken to Canada and sold to the French. Mary was redeemed for one hundred pounds of tobacco carried up on a hand sled, but her two brothers had lost their English language speaking only French, remained in Canada, married there and became prosperous farmers .[2]
Joseph Hains died in 1762.[1]

Hains-108 and Hims-1 appear to represent the same person because: Same person - please confirm LNAB against baptism record

Hims-1 and Ainse-3 seem to have the same mother, and mother's ancestors also match. They have identical date and place of birth, identical same date of death (death place very similar), wife Guamond-1 and Gaumond-80 appear to be the same (same parents). Could you elaborate on the evidence that is still needed to accept the merge? It would be very helpful. Thank you !
Hims-1 and Ainse-3 are not ready to be merged because: Requires more research thank you
