Important Notice

Halga, Helgi, Helghe or Helgo was a legendary Danish king living in the early 6th century[1]. His name would in his own language (Proto-Norse) have been Hailaga translated as "dedicated to the gods". [1]

Biography

Helge king Halfdan's son ruled at that time over Leidre. He took Queen Yrsa prisoner and married her. Their son was Rolf Krake. It was revealed that Yrsa was actually Helge's daughter and she returned to her former huband. [2]

Previous biography

Helgi Halfdansson is said to have been born in Roskilde, Denmark about 555. [citation needed] The date of birth is an estimate. Other accounts indicate dates as early as 528.

Sex was indicated as being female however references to Helgi Halfdansson refer to "him" as being a legendary King of Denmark [3]

Halfdansson-83 and Halfdansson-10 appear to represent the same person because: There is only one Helge Halfdansson in the sources for these people. None of the dates on wikitree has any foundation in the sources. They are all guestimates made by many different people and should be disregarded when evaluating merges. Please merge

Halfdansson-83 and Halfdansson-10 are not ready to be merged because: Neither one could possibly be the son of the father attached, so that link should be removed. Following that, if a father is found for one of them that seems reasonable, then the merge would be stronger.

His DOB must be something like c550 in order for his father's DOB and daughter Yrsa's DOB to be plausible.
