Mary was born in Brighton in 1849, the second child and first daughter of Samuel Hall and Sarah Nairn. She was their first child to be born in Australia. [1]
She never married.
In 1872 she was witness to the marriage of her sister Elizabeth to John Charles Whitesides.

HALL.—On the 24th May, at her residence, 53 Orchard street, Brighton, Mary Ann Sinclair Hall, beloved eldest daughter of the late Samuel Hall, of Wynalta, Sunnyside [Loch], South Gippsland. [3]
Her remains were buried with her sister, Sarah Jessie, in the Brighton Cemetery, South Caulfield, CofE Section D Grave 80. Her sister Jane joined them in 1949. [4]
