Biography

Phebe Hamilton, daughter of Alexander and Margaret Eva (Nichols) Hamilton, was born about 1847 in Schoharie County, New York. She appeared on the census of 11 Oct. 1850 in the home of her parents at Fulton, Schoharie County, New York.[1] She appeared on the census of 23 July 1860 in the home of her parents at Richford, Tioga County, New York.[2] She appeared on the census of 13 June 1865 in the home of her parents at Richford, Tioga County, New York.[3]

She married James M. Roper.[4]

She and James appeared on the census of 18 Aug. 1870 at Richford, Tioga County, New York.[5] She and James appeared on the census of 10 June 1875 at Richford, Tioga County, New York.[6]

Phebe died between the 1875 and 1880 censuses. James is a widower in the 1880 census.
