Charity Hardy was born in 1716 to William and Edith (Batchelor) Hardy in the Chowan Precinct of Albemarle County, Province of North Carolina, British Colonial America. [1, 2] Six years later, in 1722, the region would become Bertie Precinct and then in 1739 Bertie County. [10]
"Charity" was the given name of her paternal grandmother, Charity O'Dyer. [6]
She married Thomas Todd in 1740 in Bertie County, North Carolina, where the two had eight children in twenty years, including Elizabeth (b. 1740) and William (b. 1750). [3, 4]
Charity and her husband Thomas are listed together as a couple (viz., “Thomas and Charity Todd”) witnessing the will of Frances Razor on 18 Dec 1748 in Bertie County, North Carolina. Also listed as a witness was William Hardy, the name of Charity’s father, who would have been age 62 or 63 at the time. (William died in 1751 at age 65 or 66.) [5]
Frances Rasor was the mother-in-law of Charity’s brother Lemuel “Lamb” Hardy, and the Rasor and Hardy family relations included multiple land gifts and bequeaths over the years prior to the above-listed will for Frances Razor. [6]
North Carolina Early Tax Census records place the Thomas Todd family in Bertie County in 1757, 1759, and 1769. [7, 8, 9]
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1769 in Bertie. [1, 2]
Charity passed away in 1778 in Bertie County, North Carolina. [1, 2]

We should merge Charity Hardy-3712 and Charity Hardy-5276, clearly the same person.
We should keep your ancestor links, which are more complete than mine, but keep my bio and sources, which are more developed than yours. Plus, I have linked lineage that tracks her as my fifth great-grandmother. :) I also have death place and marriage place and date, all with sources, for Charity.
Once we have that merger completed, then Stormy and I can merge our separate profiles for husband Thomas Todd (-3712 and -6248).
All okay by you?
Thanks! Mark
I'll initiate a merge, and we can go from there.
