Jesse was enlisted in the company of Captain William Barron, in a regiment commanded by Colonel Nichols.[2] Following the Revolution, he was a founding member of the Hollis Philanthropic Society.[3]
On his Find A Grave page, the researcher has posted: He was a son of Phineas, Jr., and Abigail Gage Hardy and was born in Hollis, NH December 19, 1760. His wife was Rebecca Bailey and they were married on 8 January 1788.[6] She died on 19 February 1792. His second wife was Rhoda Wood on 25 Nov 1793 who was a daughter of Abijah Wood. His second wife died and he took a widow, Mary Smith for his third wife. He served in the War of the Revolution at West Point three months in 1780. Inscription In memory of Lieut.
