It was reported that in October 1898, Mrs J. H. Harris attended "The Cinderella Social" at the Mechanics Institute in Boulder City, wearing a black silk skirt, white lace blouse, black lace, and diamonds[4].
John died on 29 Jul 1926 in Maylands, Western Australia aged 49[5]. He was buried in the Wesleyan section of Karrakatta Cemetery[6].
