Biography

On 16 Nov 1815, Seth married Lydia Higgins in Homer, Cortland County, New York. They had the following children:

Rachel Haskell Newman Hammond 14 February 1819 – 1899

Harris Haskell September 1822 – 26 August 1905

Norman Haskell 1833 – 29 May 1862

In 1820, Seth and Lydia lived in Homer.

In 1830, Seth lived in Cortlandville, Cortland County. In the household were: 1 male between 5 and 10, 1 male between 40 and 50, 2 females between 10 and 15, and one female between 30 and 40.

In 1850, Seth (age 62) and Lydia (age 53) farmed in Cortlandville with their son, Norman (age 17). Seth had $1,500 in real estate.

In 1855, Seth (age 66), Lydia (age 57), and Norman (age 21) farmed in Cortlandville.

In 1860, Seth (age 71), Lydia (age 62) and Norman (age 26) farmed in Cortlandville. Son Harris (age 38) lived on the next farm with his wife Jane Williamson (age 38) and their children: Alice (age 14), Delos (age 10), and Dorr (age 3).
