Henry was born about 1740. He was the son of Conrad Haus and Christina Unknown. Henry and his wife Eva had at least 4 children.

Elizabeth born about 1769 (kidnapped)
Conrad born about 1773 (kidnapped).
Henry served in the Tyron County Militia and was killed 6 October 1777.

From the New York State Archives Collection #AO00870-77: "HENRY HOUSE. His widow, EVA, received a Widow's Half-Pay Pension for seven years as a result of her husband being killed in the Battle of Oriskany while serving as a private in the Canajoharie District Regiment of Tryon County Militia (85887.pdf-7." This record gives us his wife's first name, his rank and unit, and his death date.
From The House Family of the Mohawk, page 7. ""Public papers of George Clinton" first Governor of New York mentions among other prisoners taken by the Tories near Fort Plank in Tyron County, August 2, 1780 the following: "Belonging to the widow of Henry House, Christiana age 16, Elizabeth age 11 and Conrad age 7. ........Also...... Conrad son of Adam House."" This record gives us the names of three of Henry House' children, and the name of his grandson.
