He divorced my grandma for some reason after having a pasal of kids with her and then got custody.
He moved to Saline Co Ill. but my Mom was born in a concrete block 2 story house in Norris City White Co. Ill on Dec. 8 1925.
Grandpa was a sheet metal worker, machinist and welder. he could read and write. I believe that he died in Tennessee where he retired, and was sent back to Illinois to be buried.
I hesitated on doing my Healy side because of him. Mom's siblings had no troubles with him. He did some Jail time for something relatively minor. He moved to Gallatin Co. Ill by the age of 18 & registered for the draft but didn't have to serve.
We had to sleep on the floor when we visited him though he had plenty of beds. :I don't have much of anything good about him though some of my 1st cousins may have heard some good stories & didn't really know him.
I met him more than once. When I was a kid while at my uncle Wayne's 2nd marriage wedding.
He was the bad Grandpa to us. Mom had issues with his 2nd wife but still went to visit him as much as possible. He had a problem with his temper when he was younger.
Mom was his eldest & took care of the load of the younger siblings until she got a job at age 16 at a Newbury's then a Woolworth Stores, She was the eldest but saw them all pass before her.
