Elizabeth Hensley was born in West Virginia before it split off from Virginia.
Elizabeth Hensley was born about 1855 in Virginia (now West Virginia). She is the daughter of Alexander Hensley and Mary Fry.
She is named in the 1860 census, age 5, living in Wayne Co., with her parents Alexander (42) and Mary A (23), and her siblings Johnson and Alice (1).[1]
Though her family is listed again in the 1880 census, she is not listed with them. She should have been 25 years old at the time, so it is possible she was married and living with a husband under a different surname. No marriage records have been found.
