Medical Entry: Survived a head injury when shot about the age of 12.

"Ernest was accidentally shot in the head when about 12 or thirteen years old. He followed ::several brothers out in the woods on a hunting trip. They all told him to stay at home. They didn't know he was anywhere around. They heard some noise in the bushes and all of them shot. Ernest had a gunshot in the head. No one knew who did it.They all always felt to blame. Ernest lived his life in a sanitarium, in Birmingham, Alabama. When they would go to visit him he always seemed to recognize them. He never spoke to any one after the accident. He would smile at them."
