Biography
When Verna Elizabeth Hodges was born on October 17, 1906, in Lenoir, North Carolina, her father, Horace, was 30, and her mother, Julia, was 22. She married Adolphus Mitchell Wooten and they had two children together. She then married James Moseley Hardee on February 19, 1944, in Lenoir, North Carolina. She died on April 7, 1994, in Kinston, North Carolina, at the age of 87, and was buried there.
