Biography

Betty Mercier Holmes (married name Cochrane) was born in 1920 in Chatswood New South Wales, Australia, the daughter of Emily Elizabeth Holmes and William Holmes.[1][2][3]

Her engagement to William Allan Cochrane was announced in March 1942.[4] Betty and Bill married in 1943 in Balmain, New South Wales.[5]

At the time of the 1946 Australian electoral roll, Betty and William were living at 16 Jaques Street, Balmain. Betty was a ledgerkeeper and William was a clerk.[6]

Betty died on 28 March 1975 in New South Wales.[7]

Birth year is guessed - her parents married in 1918, and her father died in 1921.
