Biography

When Gaylon Holt was born on 12 May 1895, in Calloway, Kentucky, United States,^[1] his father, William Tolley Holt, was 25 and his mother, Mary Floyd Collins, was 20. He married Thelma Jewel Puckett on 6 February 1915, in Paris, Henry, Tennessee, United States.^[2][3] They were the parents of at least 1 son and 1 daughter. He lived in Marshall, Kentucky, United States for about 40 years^[4][5][6][7] and Hardin, Marshall, Kentucky, United States in 1950.^[8] He died on 30 October 1960, in Benton, Marshall, Kentucky, United States,^[9][10][11] at the age of 65, and was buried in Unity Cemetery, Aurora, Calloway, Kentucky, United States.^[12]

Gaylon Holt, 65, of Marshall Dies -- Benton, Ky, Oct. 31--Gaylon Holt, 65, of Benton Rt. 1, died at 7:30 a. m. Sunday at his residence. He was a member of the Unity Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Survivors include his wife. Mrs. Thelma Holt; his father, W. T. Holt of Benton Rt. 5; a daughter, Mrs. Kathleen Elkins of Hardin; a son, Pat Holt of Benton Rt. 1; four sisters. Mrs. Lotus Cox and Mrs. Beba Jackson, both of Detroit, and Mrs. Sadie Gllsson and Mrs. Reed Walker, both of Benton Rt. 5; a brother, Lois Holt of Benton and eight grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2 p. m. Tuesday at the Filbeck and Cann Chapel with the Rev. Eura Mathis officiating. Burial will be In Unity Cemetery.^[13]
