Biography

Benjamin Jacob "Jack" Horwitz was born on 13 February 1893 in New York, New York to Russian Lithuanian immigrants Solomon Nathan Horwitz and Jennie Mary (Gorovitz) Horwitz. His younger brothers would become known as Shemp, Moe, & Curly Howard.

Like his younger brothers, he took the surname Howard, though he was never involved in show business. Jack Howard worked in the insurance field.

He married Laura Brukoff in October, 1918. Together they became the parents of Bernice "Tootsie" (Howard) Herzog, Rhea "Dolly" (Howard) Elliott, and Norman Howard. Laura died in 1943

He married Marie Brukoff, Laura's sister in November, 1945.

Jack died on 11 June 1976, the last surviving brother, and was buried at Home of Peace Memorial Park in East Los Angeles, California.^[1]
