She married Zachariah Perry in Leeds, Maine in 1825. [1]
The birth date of April 5, 1807 comes from a transcribed record of the 1845 Census of Carroll, Maine, published by Jane Oliver Thompson, "The Carroll Hills, The Way Life Used To Be" in 1995.
The "History of Wayne" book shows the "House Family" of Nathaniel House & Lillis Palmer on p310. It shows 10 children, including Jane House. However, listings of the children of Nathaniel & Lillis in town records do not mention Jane.
If the birth year of 1807 is accurate, her mother would have been 50 years old. So, was she adopted? Maybe an out-of-wedlock granddaughter?
Jane married Zachariah Perry, and thus, four of the listed children of Nathaniel and Lillis House married a Perry sibling (John, Nancy, Lydia, Zachariah). This furthers the likelihood of Jane House belonging (somehow) to the family of Nathaniel and Lillis House.
It is worth mentioning that the death record of daughter Hannah Doble says the mother was Jane B. Wheeler.
Researchers could easily assume Jane's parents are Caleb House Jr. and Bethiah Young. Why? because a type-written copy of the marriage in 1825 said "prob." in front of those names. However, Caleb and Bethiah's daughter named Jane was born in 1798. And US Census records from 1850-1870 say Jane R. House was born from 1805-1808. The 1845 Carroll census says 1807. Furthermore, Jane (the d/o Caleb) married John C. Young.
