Charles was married to Annie Mable Parkinson. [1]
Married: (1). On 18 September, 1912 at Jarvis, Ontario, to Annie Mabel PARKINSON (1Apr 1887- 3Aug 1930), daughter of William Parkinson and Susannah Brown. (2). On 31 Dec. 1932 in Galt, Ontario to Jane Ellen ‘Jennie’ PEARSON (17Jul1883-21Dec1963).
They lived near Springvale and were members of the Springvale United Church. Their four daughters formed a quartet called "The Howard Sisters," and were a well-known and popular musical act in Haldimand County for some years.
Howard, Charles F. – Entered into rest at the West Haldimand Hospital, Hagersville, on Saturday, April 2, 1966, Charles Fairfield Howard of Springvale in his 80th year, beloved husband of the late Mabel Parkinson, dear father of Helen, (Mrs. Gordon Lafortune) of New Orleans, Marjorie (Mrs. Wm. McKeen) of Springvale, Laura (Mrs. Henry Heaslip) of Nober, Hazel (Mrs. Kenneth Smith) of Preston, 17 grandchildren and one great-grandchild also survive. Mr. Howard is resting at the Wm. L. Mott Funeral Home, Hagersville for service in the chapel on Monday, April 4 at 2 pm. Interment in Greenwood Cemetery, Springvale.
MRS. CHAS. F. HOWARD After a severe illness of several weeks there passed away on August 3rd, 1930, at her late home near Springvale, Mabel Parkinson, beloved wife of Chas. F. Howard, in her 44th year. The late Mrs. Howard was a twin daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Parkinson, she was born on the farm “Home Comfort”, one mile east of Jarvis, on April 1st, 1887, where she lived until March 1912. Her parents retired from farm life and moved to Jarvis. During these years she was a very active and useful girl, both at home and in the church. She became an expert butter-maker and won many first prizes at Hamilton and Toronto Fairs. On September 18th, 1912, she was united in marriage to C.F. Howard of Springvale who survives her. The sudden death of her only son, Lawrence, who was drowned when but five years old, seemed a very hard blow to her, and she has not been in good health since. The funeral was held from her late home on Wednesday, August 6th, at 2 pm, the service being conducted by the Rev. E.W. Brierly of Hamilton.
