Research Notes

The death record of William D. Huffman (son of John D. Huffman and Rebecca Stausberry [Stansberry]) list his mother's name as Rebecca Webber, instead of Stausberry (Stansberry). William's death record can be found at: "Illinois Deaths and Stillbirths, 1916-1947," database, FamilySearch (https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:N3XF-QW5 : 8 March 2018), Wm David Huffman, 06 Dec 1917; Public Board of Health, Archives, Springfield; FHL microfilm 1,543,819.

Note: If John D. Huffman was born in Virginia in 1806, it is possible that John was born in that part of western Virginia which became West Virginia on the 20th of June 1863 when the state of West Virginia was created.
