Birth

Cornelia was born in 1853 ^[1] in 's-Gravenzande, the daughter of Jacob Huijsman and Ariaantje van Berkel.

Married Life

Cornelia married Frans Van Staalduinen on 31 Oct 1873 in 's-Gravenzande.^[2]. They lived in Wassenaar at that time in a small house because the parents of her husband Frans sent them away because they had to marry.^[3] Their first child, Klazina , was born 6 months later. Frans and Cornelia had 14 children altogether, from 1874 to 1895.

When some small chickens were born at their farm and started walking around, the wife of the baron of Van Tuyll van Serooskerken rode by and the lady baronet saw the special chickens. She wanted to buy them, but Cornelia refused and said that she could get some eggs if they were grown up. That was the beginning of a lifetime friendship.^[4]

Their son Jacob married Sara Quispel on 16 May 1906 in Zuidland, Zuid-Holland. Frans and Cornelia were present for the wedding and appear in the wedding photo.

Their son, Gerrit was married in 1908^[5] at the age of 26, born around 1882. Father Frans is listed with occupation landbouwer (farmer).

Their son Adrianus was married in 1909^[6] at the age of 23, born around 1886 in Maasland. His parents are listed in the marriage record as Frans van Staalduinen and Cornelia Huysman.

Death

She died in 1924 in De Lier.^[7] She is buried in De Lier^[8]
