Biography

Daniel, son of John Humm and Elizabeth King , was baptised on the 24th February 1771 at Glemsford in Suffolk. ^[1]

Daniel first arrived in Australia on the Scarborough (First Fleet) as a soldier, departing from Portsmouth on 13 May 1787 and arriving in Botany Bay on the 19th January 1788. He arrived in Sydney Cove 26 January 1788. The Scarborough returned to England leaving Port Jackson on 6 May 1788. Daniel returned to Australia on the Scarborough (2), leaving Portsmouth 19th January 1790, and arriving in Sydney on 28th June 1790.

Arrived 28/6/1790 on "Scarborough" as Sergeant.

Mary Hook and Daniel Humm were married on 6th March 1810 at St Phillips in Sydney. Witnesses to the marriage were Joseph Eaborn and Lileen M?. ^[2]

He passed away at the age of 57 years, on the 2nd November 1827 at Parramatta, and was interned in St Johns Cemetery at Parramatta on 4th November 1827.^[3], Find A Grave: Memorial #87866817
