Biography

Eliza Husher daughter of Robert Husher and his wife, Anne Caile, was baptised at Horton in Dorset on Christmas Day 1817. ^[1]

She married David Andrews, son of Job Andrews and his wife, Jane Cuff, at Horton on 9 March 1839. ^[2] 1841 finds Eliza and her daughter, Charlotte Andrews, living with Eliza's parents. ^[3] Eliza hasn't been found in the 1851 Census in England almost certainly because she was with David in Scotland where their children Elizabeth about 1884 and Francis about 1847 were born. ^[4] By 1861 they were back in Dorset, living at Woodlands where they still were in 1871. ^[5] David and Eliza had moved to Cranborne by 1881 with their daughter Marianne. They have a granddaughter Lily Anne. Nothing so far says that she was Marianne's daughter but it appears likely. ^[6]

Eliza died on 17 March 1890 aged 72 ^[7] and was buried at Horton on 24th March. ^[8] Her estate valued at £9 4s 6d was probated to her son, Frederick on 19 April. ^[9]
