Biography
Martha was born in the Marion District of South Carolina circa 1833. She was the daughter of John Hussey and Eleanor "Nellie" Unknown Hussey.
1850 CENSUS - MONTGOMERY CO., NC Martha Hussey is shown in the 1850 census for Montgomery County, North Carolina, at age 16, living in her parents' household, John and Eleanor Hussey, with 5 siblings, Elizabeth Hussey age 20, Linsey Hussey age 14, Sarah Hussey age 13, Christian Hussey age 12, and John Hussey age 10.
Also shown on the same census are the households of 2 of Martha Hussey's older brothers and thier families, Barfield Hussey age 22 is shown as head of household and Samuel Hussey age 23 is shown as head of household.
Also shown on the census is the family of Martha Hussey's older sister, Eleanor (Hussey) Dunn age 21, living in the household of husband William Dunn.[1]
