Biography

Edward was born before 1584. He was the son of Edward Hyde and Alice St Barbe. ^[1]

Hyde, Edward of Wilts, gent. Christ Church, matric. 10 July, 1601, aged 16; B.A. 23 Oct., 1604, M.A. 9 July, 1607, B.D. 23 Jan., 1625-6, rector of Boscombe, Wilts, 1614, prebendary of Heytesbury 1618, vicar of West Grimstead, Wilts, 1626, until sequestered in 1646, rector of Milston, Wilts, 1641; perhaps father of Edward 1631. In 1624, as "My kinsman, Mr Edward Hyde of Boscombe, preacher of God’s Word" he is one of the executors of the Will of his aunt, Mary (St. Barbe) Langford.

In 1624-5 as "my cousin Edward Hyde, parson of Boscombe" in the Will of his aunt Margaret Hyde, widow of Dr. Thomas Hyde of Sarum, he is appointed guardian of her son Thomas.

He passed away after 1659.
