Biography

Alfred Alonzo Ingersoll was born on 15 December 1914 [1] in Springfield Township, Kalkaska, Michigan, United States to Albert Ingersoll and Anna Risden.

Alfred was raised in Springfield Township, Kalkaska, Michigan, United States with his siblings. [2]

Alfred attended school through 8th grade. [3]

Alfred was married to Mary Jane Brott. They had three known children: Patsy Louise, Berton D., and Dianne E.

In 1940, Alfred and Mary Jane were living in Springfield Township, Kalkaska, Michigan, United States with their daughter, Dianne. They lived in a home near Alfred's parents. Alfred worked as a laborer through the WPA doing road construction. [4] Their daughter, Patsy, was living in the household of her maternal grandparents. Their son, Berton, was living in the household of his paternal grandparents.

By 1950, Alfred and Mary Jane had moved to Wyoming, Kent, Michigan, United States with their children, Dianne E. and Berton D. Alfred worked as a set-up man for an auto parts manufacturer. [5] Their daughter, Patsy, continued to live in the household of her maternal grandparents.

Alfred passed away on 9 May 1988 in Manton, Wexford, Michigan, United States at the age of 73 years. [6]

Alfred's obituary reads: "Alfred Ingersoll, Died May 9, 1988. Manton - Alfred Ingersoll, 73 died Monday at his home in Manton after a sudden illness.

He grew up in Manton and then moved to Grand Rapids, where he lived for many years and worked as a buffer for the Dohlor-Jarvis Co. He returned to Manton, where he lived for the past 17 years.

The son of Albert and Anne (Risdon) Ingersoll, he was born December 15, 1914 in Springfield Township, Kalkaska County. On January 15, 1936, in Grand Traverse County, he married the former Mary Jane Brott, who survives.

Also surviving are a son, Berton Ingersoll and a daughter, Patsy Walcott, both of Grand Rapids; 17 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Hall Funeral Home in Manton. The Rev. Carlton L. Rauch will officiate. Burial will be in Breed Cemetery in Fife Lake.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home." [7]
