Biography
Karl Viktor Amadeus Wolfgang Kasimir Adolf Bodo, Prinz zu Isenburg-Birstein was born at Birstein 29 July 1838, the son of Prinz Victor Alexander zu Isenburg-Birstein (born 14 Sep 1802, died 15 Feb 1843) and his wife Maria Kreszentia Oktavia, Prinzessin zu Löwenstein-Wertheim-Rosenberg (born 3 Aug 1813, died 19 Mar 1878).[1],[2]
He was educated at the Gymnasium at Wittenberg and then studied law and political science at the University of Göttingen from 1856.[2]
He served as a member in the 1st chamber of the Landtag of the Grand Duchy of Hesse, from 1862, originally as the representative of this uncle Wolfgang Ernst III, Reigning Prince (Fürst) zu Isenburg, and succeeded his uncle on 29 October 1666 as 5th Fürst zu Isenburg and the management of the family estates.[2]
He married Marie Louise Archdss of Austria at Brandeis, on Bohemia 31 May 1865
