Alexander Jackson was born about 1821 on Lot 3E, Conc 5 of Dalhousie Twp (his father's land grant), the eldest son of Marshal Jackson and Kezia Shipman.[1] This was approximately Lat: 44.973° N, Lon: 76.450° W, about 5km northwest of Playfairville.
Alexander married Isabella Gunness in Bathurst Twp 14 July 1845.[2][3] His brother James Jackson married her cousin Elizabeth Briggs.
They had two sons, Christopher and Marshall, and Isabella was pregnant with another son when Alexander died 27 September 1853;[4] his wife was a widow in the 1861census.[5] She named the last son Alexander after his father.
Distinguish from another Alexander Jackson, born about the same time but living in Augusta, southeast of Smiths Falls.
Their son Christopher Gunness Jackson was named after her brother, who named his own son Alexander Jackson Gunness.
