This is what I know; the name George Stuart Jackson appears on the birth certificate of Margaret Louise Jackson as her father but not in censuses, death or marriage records or indeed anywhere else. He is recorded as being a journeyman tailor. On the certificate Margaret Louise's mother states her name to be 'Margaret Jackson formerly Jackson'. When Margaret Louise marries in 1890, her father is stated to be Frederick Jackson, clerk. Once again there is no relevant record of this.
Two of 'his' great great grandchildren have tested with serious amounts (4 and 7%. respectively) of European Jewish DNA. As there is no evidence of Jewish ancestry in any of the known lines, George Stuart Jackson, or whatever his name was, could well be the source of this anomaly. There is of course a chance that Margaret Jackson had no clue who really was the father of her child.
